Shades of Gray

My favorite thing about home:

The thunderstorms.
The nightly summer storms that light up your bedroom and bring your scared pets to your bed.
The oldest memory I have of my home town and my constant reminder of the power of nature.

Family

Just spent the last 7 hours interviewing individual members of my immediate family about our move from Colombia to the United States. 

I never realized how complex and interesting my family is. Its amazing to see how differently we all experienced the move yet how we all have overarching themes. 

Definitely a life changing project.

Just purchased tickets to Hawaii with the money I made last semester to stay with someone I barely know. I think that might fall under the term “living life to the fullest”

My ex boyfriend is getting married today.

Objectified

That’s the thing with lose ends, as much as you try to tie them together, in the end, they always end up a tangled mess.

Then again, I doubt any guy who claims they ever loved me has been able to distinguish between love and lust.

Family

To you it might just be a six letter word, but to me, it means everything.

And when your brother is standing on stage on the most important day of his college career thanking his sister for all the support and for representing his family, well, that could easily mean the entire world to me.

I wouldn’t know what to do without my four favorite people in the world, and that six letter world.
